Profile of Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida
Located on the western side of Nusa Penida Island, Kelingking Beach sits high above the Indian Ocean, offering panoramic views that feel almost unreal. The viewpoint at the top of the cliff allows visitors to admire the iconic T-Rex formation, which curves outward toward the sea.
Although the beach itself lies far below, many travelers visit primarily for the viewpoint, which provides one of the most recognizable landscapes in all of Bali.
The History Behind the Name
The name Kelingking comes from the Indonesian word for “little finger.” From certain angles, the cliff resembles a bent finger reaching toward the ocean. However, as tourism grew, international visitors began calling it the T-Rex Cliff due to its striking resemblance to a dinosaur’s head.
Over time, this nickname spread across social media, turning Kelingking Beach into a global travel icon while still retaining its original local identity.
